PRESENT:                               Mayor John C.M. Davis, Mayor Pro-Tem Susan J. Osika, Councilpersons Joane E. Ford, Justin R. Horvath, Mark D. Owen, Linda L. Robertson, and Charles J. Sumrack.

ABSENT:                                  None.

Mayor Davis read the rules for addressing the City Council.

CITIZEN COMMENTS

There were no citizen comments.

DISCUSSION – 2005-2006 City Budget

Councilperson Owen suggested reviewing the budget department by department.

There was discussion regarding increases in department budgets related to supplies and personnel, website transactional services, contracting out services currently done in-house, gas and oil costs, equipment, Homeland Security Funds, grants, increased health insurance costs, park and ball field maintenance costs, the MAGNET program, the Historical Commission, Curwood Castle, education and training costs, pension costs, maintaining current level of services, and alternate sources of revenue.

City Manager Gregg Guetschow asked for further direction regarding future financial management policy changes.

Motion by Councilperson Sumrack for adjournment at 8:04 p.m., supported by Councilperson Owen and concurred in by unanimous vote
