this as well as provide a written list of items that are available with
the cost. He was encouraged to bring various samples to a future
meeting.
Brewer displayed
relief tiles of the Curwood Castle in various colors, made by a local artist. Motion by Heavilin to
purchase nine tiles at a cost of $16.00 each for resale at $35.00.

Lameti presented a
“natural” swag agreed upon to be appropriate for holiday decoration at
the Curwood Castle, along with offering the services of the Owosso High School Art Club.
Motion by Stechschulte to approve up to $300.00 in expenditures for
Castle holiday decorations, supported by Heavilin, and approved. Brewer
will contact Judy Senk to inquire if she will also exhibit her stuffed
bears along with the decorations.
It was reported
that the castle chimney repairs are being completed.
Tobey reported that
John Archer had inspected the gutters at the Gould House. Separation of
the copper joint seams has resulted in leaking through the soffits.
Bids will need to be solicited for repair along with re-roofing the
mansard area. Heavilin provided documentation that patterned slate had
originally been installed on the mansard. Heavilin requested Tobey
schedule city personnel to temporarily repair gutter seams with a
flexible caulk, Volcum or Sika, available locally. Lameti suggested
that an appraiser be secured for pricing items to be sold by the
commission with funds generated designated for suitable roofing
materials.
Lameti was asked to
make a contact regarding repair of the Gould House front steps.
Brewer reported
that Mr. Klinkoski from the Sign Gallery would replace the “Curwood
Castle Park” sign located by
Dollar General on Main Street for $350.00, with an additional charge of
$100.00 for installation. Motion by Lameti to purchase replacement sign
for $350.00 and to authorize installation, if city crews are not
available. Support by Heavilin and approved.
It was noted that
the Gould House apartment three continues to be vacant. Since carpet
replacement in one apartment had been budgeted for this year, a motion
was made by Ford to authorize up to $2,000.00 for carpet replacement.
Support by Stechschulte and approved. Brewer will head committee with
Lameti to select carpet.
It was agreed to
meet at Curwood Castle, December 12th from
5:00 to 7:00 p.m., to include the Art Club and part-time staff and enjoy
the holiday decorations.
Brewer encouraged
members to be ready to review bylaws and bring ideas for the new budget
at the January meeting.

to adjourn. Second by Ford. Approved.
Adjournment at 8:11
p.m.
Respectfully
submitted,
