Old Business
2005 Home
Tour – there are currently enough homeowners committed to have the
tour. Bonnie Snyder is working on getting them signed.
Gould House
– concerns voiced about whether the eaves as installed are copper or
aluminum and whether they are done according to the original bid specs
or if there was a change that the commission was not made aware of.
Also there are step flashings exposed on the sides of the dormers; how
will these be covered? The contractor’s lift has done considerable
damage to the lawns and the Commission would require this to be
corrected prior to final payment. There was some discussion concerning
adding touches of the terracotta color to other elements of the
architecture to accent the top cornice.
Carriage
House items – discussion of sale of many of the non-significant items
stored in the carriage house. There was considerable talk of Ebay
versus direct sale versus auction. Some items in the carriage house are
original to the Gould house and may need to be retained.
Motion by
Heavilin to solicit architectural salvage firms to give us an offer on
taking the entire contents of the carriage house (excluding the
carriages, Woodard furniture and items of significance to the Gould
House), second by Ellenberg; motion passed.
Apartment 3 is still
occupied by the same tenants. A vacancy is expected in the near future.
Curwood Festival – report $337.05 profit plus a portion of
the festival profits (amount unknown at this time).
The organ donated by George Hoddy to the Castle was looked at
by representatives of Marshall Music. It needs several hundred dollars
in repairs and adjustments to be useable.
New Business:
The sign in
the Curwood
Castle
Park
was vandalized and will require $125 to repair. Motion by Lameti to
approve the repair with billing in July, second by Wascher; motion
passed.
Lameti gave an update
on Preservation Owosso activities.
Motion to adjourn @
8:28 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Phil Heavilin
