On Friday, November 13, 2020, a City contractor will be working along portions of Shiawassee Street (M-52) from the intersection of King Street northerly to Jennett Street. The contractor will clean and inspect the sanitary sewer that is located in the middle of Shiawassee Street. The inside lanes for both northbound and southbound lanes will be closed to traffic. All traffic will be required to merge and use the outside (curb side) lanes. Turning movements at the Shiawassee and King Street intersection will be limited in all directions from late morning through mid-afternoon, while work is performed. Traffic controls will be in place early morning for the scheduled work so as to protect both motorists and the workers. Motorists are asked to abide by the traffic controls, safely merge and pass through the construction site. This work is necessary for proper maintenance of the city’s sanitary sewer system. We appreciate everybody’s patience and understanding. Please call the City Engineering office at 989-725-0550 should you have any questions.
